Hi, I’m Ian Lawson,
The Dizziness Doc.
Suffering with dizziness? Vertigo? Balance disorders?
Let’s stabilise your world.

About Me
After 20 years as a practicing chiropractor, I’ve seen hundreds of cases of dizziness & vertigo. As a chiro engaging in the latest in neuroscience research, I am in the privileged position of understanding the close connections between the human frame and the brain, and how it is that I can influence their function through my treatment.
Whilst still continuing as a chiropractor, I have specialised my skills in recent years and have positioned myself as a leading carer for dizziness, vertigo, balance disorders, dysequilibrium and other neurological conditions.
Can I help you?
Diagnosing and understanding the cause of your dizziness can be a complex process. My thorough history and examination process will help me determine how I can help, or who I need to send you to first.
The majority of patients I see can be completely helped within my clinic, or at least gain significant improvement. If you’re not sure if I’m the right person for you, hit the “Contact Me” button below and tell me a bit more. I’d love to answer your questions before you arrive.

What I Can Help You With
Suffering from any of these?
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
BPPV is the most common cause of vertigo, but it’s not as simple as it may seem. Which canal is the affected one? What other factors are concurrently involved?
Proprioceptive Deficiency
How can the function of the spine, in particular the upper neck area, impact vertigo and your sense of equilibrium?
Is a deficiency in this area the missing link in your issue?
Mal de Debarquement Syndrome
Rocking and swaying after you get off a boat is normal. Having it continue for days or weeks afterwards, is not.
Your vertigo may be more closely related to this condition.
Balance Disorders
Dizziness & balance are symptoms that often go hand-in-hand. One often leads to the other, so your rehabilitation programme may involve extensive balance retraining, leading to greater stability.
Vestibular Migraine
Migraine is a complex syndrome that can take many forms. Whilst the classic migraine presents as headache and visual disturbance, sometimes the vestibular system is the most affected.
Orthostatic Hypotension
If your dizziness is the classic “stood up too quickly” issue, then it may not be vertigo or vestibular in nature at all. You may be suffering from orthostatic hypotension, which is also a treatable cause.
